FlowShot 0.1.0 — Chrome extension
Records a browser workflow into a step-by-step guide: one screenshot per click, the clicked element highlighted, and an auto-written instruction for each step. Use it to capture app setup flows and onboarding steps for review screenshots. Nothing is uploaded — guides and screenshots stay in your browser.
Install (Chrome 116+, Edge, Brave)
- Unzip the download into a folder you will keep (Chrome loads it from there).
- Open
chrome://extensionsand turn on Developer mode (top right). - Click Load unpacked and select the unzipped folder (the one containing
manifest.json). - Pin FlowShot from the extensions menu so it is one click away.
Use
- Open the app or page you want to document, then click the FlowShot icon to open the side panel.
- Press Start recording and go through the workflow normally. Clicks, typing, selections and navigation are captured automatically.
- Press Alt+Shift+F at any time to drop a note step without leaving the page.
- Press Finish. The guide opens in the editor: reorder or delete steps, add highlights, arrows, blur, or text annotations, and swap screenshots.
- Export as a standalone HTML file, print to PDF, or save an editable
.flowshot.jsonbackup from the guide library.
Chrome blocks extensions on chrome:// pages and the Chrome Web Store; FlowShot shows a notice in the side panel when that happens.
